Monopoli

This is Monopoli, the place where I was born a long, long time ago! There are many coves both intown and nearby and they could be either sandy or rocky. There's a kind of sea for every taste. Emiko and Ale, we hope to have you here next year!

Enrico and I prefer less urban landscape so we drive out of town for some minutes to enjoy more space and less people (at least in June, from the half of July to the end of August will be hell everywhere!)

La giornata di Alessandro inizia con l`organizzazione del rinfresco che precedera` il suo seminario, per onorare una barbara usanza americana: il povero studente porta cibo per gli esaminatori e il pubblico i quali consumano il tutto prima dell`esame cosi` che colui che dovrebbe essere festeggiato non si gode nulla...

Alessandro begins his day organizing the party that will precede his defence, to fulfil a barbaric American tradition: the wretched Ph.D. student brings food for his professors and his audience that will gobble everything up before the student`s talk so that the one that should be celebrated won`t enjoy anything...

Dopo il seminario i prof lo interrogano per circa venti minuti a porte chiuse. Non possiamo ingannare l`attesa mangiando perche` e` gia` tutto finito!

After the talk a 20 minutes exam starts. We cannot while away the time grabbing a bite, becuase the food is already gone!
